The cold weather outside makes me want to spend the weekend exploring caves and dungeons and the snowy landscape of Skyrim. Unfortunately, I have an abundance of homework keeping me busy, so I have to find other ways to indulge in one of my all-time favorite fictional worlds.
One of my favorite blogs is Console to Closet, in which fellow gamers make outfits inspired by video games. The outfits aren’t literal interpretations of clothes in the games, so it’s not like cosplay; it’s more about pulling out the elements from a game and applying them to an outfit that can be worn day-to-day. It’s a nice and subtly geeky way to carry parts of your favorite stories with you all the time.
I put together a few Skyrim-inspired cold weather outfits on Polyvore. I tried to incorporate some of the textures and colors of Skyrim into these outfits, and I also tried to use some clothing items I already have (including my favorite Mukluk fur boots!).
It just started snowing here in Northern Nevada, so I think it’s time to pull out some of my fur-lined clothes and boots. Happy (almost) Halloween!
